Remember how your Rare Lance was pretty much rendered useless in Act 3 Of Hell Difficulty. Or how Silks of the Victor was no longer "godly" once the expansion came out. Do you think the WoW Expansion will do the same thing. Sorry if this has been answered//asked.

Progression in the game in general is intended to upgrade or replace the items you have now as you advance through the game, either in level or location. The same way you would have replaced your items as you leveled or played through the current game will translate to the expansion. Of course the rate at which they are replaced by better items will be determined by what you have now. Higher quality items will tend to carry longer into the expansion than lower quality.
