Does anyone know when the Expansion coming out i have preordered teh game through EB in July and wondering when will it be released ?

Let me see if I can dig up that answer in my mental notes and spit it out for you. I'm sure people will say I am copying and pasting but only from my brain to the keyboard I assure you. ;)
Answer:
We have not announced a specific date as of yet. We are still on target for a 4th quarter (Q4= Oct/Nov/Dec) 2006 time period.
That said however, we are not committing to a date as of yet because it ultimately will come down to 'It will be released when it's ready.'
The team is pushing hard on the expansion and is as anxious as the fans to get it completed and out for the fans to enjoy.
Please be aware that when retailers put up a date of release they are basing that date on data they were given at a previous time and are required to put up a 'best guess' date in order to sell product. They try to be as accurate as they can be but until we give an official date, their dates are just 'best guesses'.

I'm worried that kind of timespan that if the beta isn't really heavily polished by the time it hits the contest winners and the blizzcon, it won't be polished enough to launch. In my expeirance, most betas I've done have lasted between 4 and 6 months, so the time window worries me.
At the same time, if you really do launch a beta that is that highly polished, you will offend some of the beta testers. I beta because it makes me feel like I accomplished something, and I actually feel let down if the beta isn't at all buggy because I feel like I accomplished nothing. I also feel like the company spent way to long in internal QA if that happens and it makes me feel that the company didn't trust us as beta testers.
After all that is said and done though, balance comes into play. When you get a beta test setting, balance testing is much eaiser to do. In a beta setting, there are much less in the way of players, so it is easy to throw trolls out and have constructive debate, analysis, and testing. From what I've heard about the time to level from 60-70, the beta will need to last several months just to have players able to do some serious balance and bug testing at lv 70.
I just worry that the beta will be shorter than it needs to be and the launch will be plagued by bugs that will hurt the game.
The team is pushing hard so that we can get to that beta phase. I just don't have an eta on when people can expect it. I would say to have faith but people will come out of the woodwork to beat me over the head with their angst. ;)
