Subject: So-LOOT Rate Affected By Names/Leaders/Seeds?
We've all heard about this superstition. Blizzard's drop rates on items are set by such-and-such different things. I've never personally believed it. I figure it's like people in casinos tapping on slot machines so they win.

So, I was wondering. Does anyone know if these rumors really are true? Or is drop rate just random and random, like it really seems to be.

You refer to it as superstition.

You say yourself that you don't believe it.

You refer to them as rumors.

And you ask if they are true?

This is why myths are perpetuated on message boards. People trick themselves out of incredulity.

Loot tables are randomly seeded. They do not depend on the class of your guild leader or what time your MT brushed their teeth that day.

Yet it has to be seeded with something... but what?

A random number?
