Subject: Almost Nobody likes to Heal
Everybody wants to be a damage dealer, whether they're a warrior, rogue, warlock, hunter, elemental shaman, feral druid, and even shadow priest; not many people want to sit back and heal. Every class that has healing capability doesn't want the responsibility of tossing first aid spells to people on the front line. Most anybody who plays this game wants to be doing the most dps.

It amazes me when shaman, and even priests who deliberately spec shadow for raid content refuse to give a healing spell. And every last one of them are apalled that they would have to do anything but deal damage.

Perhaps Blizzard can arrange ways for people to be able to purchase NPCs to heal for them in groups, raids, and pvp.
I married a rogue.

I like to heal. I would say that it does take a certain kind of person to want to heal. A lot of players are in the 'single player game' mindset and want to be the avatar that is single handedly saving the universe by hitting things really hard with a metal stick. That aside, there is a natural attraction to melee classes over anything else. I really can't say if it's cultural, or something hardwired into us. Maybe it is indeed just past experience with other games that tend to put us in those roles feeding our desire to continue them. If anything, I think an aversion to healing (or rather the attraction to DPS) is decidedly testosterone driven.

It's also really fun to let the people you don't like get to an insanely low amount of health, or just let them die. "Oops!" *snicker*
