Subject: Is jewelcrafting a primary?
I may have missed it in the jewelcrafting blurb, but is it a primary or secondary? The blurb says it's just "a new profession".

Have to now decide whether to drop a hard earned 300 profession for it or a gathering one etc..

Mining seems to be useful for jewelcrafting, but it also is for my blacksmithing. Mining and bs kinda need each other though.

It is a primary profession. Prospecting is paired with it much like smelting is paired with mining.

Players will be able to craft socketed items as well.

Q u o t e:
Exactly why i don't want to give up blacksmithing. Wouldn't want to miss out on any decent new bs plans. I guess it's bye bye mining or make an alt for jewels.

That was my main concern. Giving up mining means spending even more gold than I already do for ore.

decisions decisions.

Or you could just buy gems from jewelcrafters, make some items and socket them how you think they will sell best then put them on the Auction House. ;) It's a whole new level of gameplay then.
