I am wondering if the character transfer people are going to be working through the weekend or if I am going to have to wait till monday to have access to my toon??
Anyone know?

The transfers aren't broken, so there isn't need to 'work on them'. Nothing is 'sitting until Monday'.
Maybe I am not understanding your question?

C'mon man, I'm trying to encourage you to think it through, here.
Paid transfers are not broken but queued.
The process of completing a transfer is automatic and operational.
Therefore, if you are in queue (as you said) the post I linked expicitly states that those in queue are not lost and will be processed eventually.
Therefore, your request will be processed.
What you want to ask is, "when, exactly, will my transfer go through?", which is something that I can not tell you. I don't know if it will be today, Saturday or Sunday as I do not know your place in queue.
