Since transfers have opened up, we have gained I believe up to 10 significantly sized guilds, and more are announcing that they will come. We have gone from a medium population server to full with a Queue to get in. Most of us appreciated it at first because it equaled out the horde/alliance imbalance, but now we just have too many people, and the balance we wanted is leaning toward the alliance (where before it was horde).
The server stability is decreasing as well. I get noticably more lag inside and outside of instances, more and more disconnects.
Please restrict transfers over to mal'ganis now, or all the effort in to giving us new hardware will go to waste because of all of the extra people.

Q u o t e: Mal'ganis update:
Hasn't had a queue in 2 days.
Judging from my alt on Mal'ganis, the lag is actually the same as on my low pop server.
Corrient, thank you for the update.
The paid transfers operate on a daily check system. If population begins queueing, transfers are temporarily disabled to a certain realm. If the queues persist over days, the realm becomes ineligible for a consistent period.
As we have said before, we are monitoring realms and the transfer service closely and have spent our time previous to it's release putting systems like this in place.
Please keep in mind, this service is not old and is seeing use from a lot of players. Population spikes and fluctuation are to be expected. This is also why we release realms in stages, to contain ripple effects.
While you express legitimate concern and it is duly noted, I would advise against exaggerating something like this before all the votes are tallied. A few large guilds moving realms can serve as a focal point for concern, but may not have the expected long-term effects.
You do not strike harmony on the first chord, you settle into a natural rythym.
We'll keep watch. You keep us posted. ;)

Q u o t e: Tseric, I can't seem to figure out if people from Lightbringer and other realms that seeded Black Dragonflight will be able to transfer to there.
I realize it's going PvE to PvP, but that's exactly what happened a few months ago to create the realm, and a lot of us have friends there we'd like to join.
Any idea?
Any previous, free realm-to-realm transfer has no bearing on the paid transfer eligibility.

Q u o t e: I think a part of the problem with what people are noticing with transfers is that when people transfer, they log in and STAY ONLINE on that new server much longer than they would normally.
The "new toy" effect makes more people log in than you would normally have, hence queues.
I agree. People are setting up channels and guild structure again, sorting out bank alts, etc. The first days after transfer are very likely seeing longer log-in times.

Q u o t e: A typical money-making response that does not care about the environment. This wait and see aspect is so typical - oh we have to wait and see what happens, then the unfortnate happens. Then the typical response is, oh well now we know, sorry. It will not change caz you have already done the damage. The people that have come across will complain that they cannot go back. So the logical response at this point is: "well those who are unhappy with what we did... you can pay to transfer to another server". Hehe more money for us - look we have a new revenue generating avenue open up.
Show some leadership in caring about all characters and not the money aspect - set a window, see who is all going across, and keep a flowchart so to speak on each server so that you do not ruin it for those yet to be affected. You need help with that - they are plenty of people in the community willing to help you I bet.
Did you completely skip the first part where I mentioned transfers being disabled in response to queues? Your inflammatory rhetoric is unnecessary, as we are keeping tabs on the population shifts. You are further trying to anticipate a worst-case scenario and assume it will come to pass. That this realm is seeing some active movement and login queues does not spell disaster, it spells an expected situation which has counter-measures in place.
