It's actually something we have considered in the past for some goals, however we found it would be extremely hard to moderate and control. Such as, how can we ensure the person being recognized for their efforts did so in a fair way, or by playing the game through means we intended? If they did not, how would that be handled, and what additional investigations would be necessary for every person down the line to ensure the same wasn't true for them? etc. It actually turns out to be a more complex system than it may appear to be, and the cost vs reward is pretty iffy.
Allowing the community (ie you) to post your own achievements (first downs, leveling records, etc.) has thus far been very rewarding, and us stepping in to take over that would likely cause more problems than it would be worth at this time.
It's still something we would like to continue doing, such as the Ahn'Qiraj War Effort, but it would likely be in a similar vein of large generalities.[ post edited by Drysc ]
We are building a forum of extraordinary magnitude.
