Q u o t e: No No NO!
Dev said it zillion times already.
Blizzard is bigger than 4th of July.
WoW been doing maintance on tuesday for over 2 years now.
That tradition is more important to uphold than some silly july 4th tradition which Dev have no obligation to respect.
At least thats how I understand and interpret the communication coming from Blizzard.
So stop asking.
Blizzard does respect the holiday but Blizzard also respects the need to maintain the servers to the best of their ability which includes regular maintenance. There is a service to be provided and server maintenance is an important part of that service.
While I understand everyone's concerns and self-justified outrage ("Think of the Blizzard Employees!") I realize that most people just want to play which has nothing to do with whether anyone is having to work the holiday or not. People that work at the electric company are working as are firemen, policemen, nurses, doctors and many others. The world does not stop no matter the holiday.
I'm sure if something happened during the 4th you all would expect someone to be there to fix it as well so that you can in fact play. This is no different other than you won't be able to play until after the regularly scheduled maintenance.
I'm sorry if people feel that's shallow on Blizzard's end or that the company somehow doesn't care, but it's not true. Because Blizzard cares maintenance is being done so that people will be able to continue playing the game for more than just one day but for the remainder of the week. Also remember it's only a relatively short period of time out of a very long week.

Q u o t e: The problem being that the relativly short period of time regularly extends into unexpected maintanence... and on our day off too! ;(
Hopefully all will go smooth tommorrow (sacrifices to your favorite Azerothian God or Deity might help) and everyone will be able to get in as soon as possible.
I will most likely be doing something amazingly exciting tommorrow morning like laundry. :(
