The maintenance has been the same since the start of World of Warcraft and there are no plans to change that for the holiday. Sorry guys.

Please understand, if we missed even a single Tuesday maintenance, all Gnome character data would be completely destroyed. We must protect their fragility at all cost, holiday or no holiday. These are the cold hard facts, I'm afraid.

Q u o t e: Ya, and to satisfy Druids, it's an........outdoor instance.
It'll involve an constant DoT from this bright orb in the sky. You'll take very little dmg over time, to the point you won't notice any dmg until hours later. This orb cannot be targeted and will last for around 14 hours or so. Applying some fire resistance oil to the skin will negate this damage for some time.
Also, there will be alot of sithilid type creatures in the instance. They cannot be targeted, so only an AoE will work to kill them.
Be wary of the terrain as well. Sometimes the environment will proc a "splinter" DoT or a "stubbed toe" snare on you.
Make sure you bring a mage in the raid to summon vasts ammount of water. This zone has "hydration" bar on your screen and you must drink water to refill this bar. If you let the bar reach zero, you will become incapacitated.
I suggest a fire resist with a +15 SPF at least.

I hope everyone that celebrates the 4th has a great one. Please be safe if you hit the roads for the long weekend. :)
I'd also like to caution you all to please watch the nationalism that is being exhibited in this thread. It's great to be patriotic and love your country but you don't need to beat down others to show it.
Thanks.

Q u o t e: Yeah really... it's just one day. Why not just skip maintenance for that day?
Seems easy enough. Do the servers catch on fire if weekly maintenance isn't performed exactly on schedule?
:-)
Nope! The schedule MUST be maintained at all costs.
It could happen. ;)
It's just important that a schedule be maintained for the overall best health of the servers.
