PvP is dying, and its eventually going to be impossible to save.
This game is turning into a full PvE game and theres no saving that - They might as well leave PvP in the dirt unless they plan on revamping the entire system. Give paladins strikes, gives rogues their cherished damage, and give druids the ability to tank like warriors. If Blizzards keeps going the direction they are going heres whats gonna happen.
2 Warriors stand toe to toe... one in decent equipment, one fully decked out. Fully decked out warrior uses auto attack, other warrior uses full out abilities - Epic warrior wins (Absolutly no skill)
Paladins will be healing 99% of the time... Because paladins are apparently just casters with platemail.. forget the whole Knight thing.
Rogues will eventually get a damage upgrade, but equipment will be the deciding factor between them and warriors.
Warriors wont need the protection tree .. its useless now and unless revamped it will be useless in the future.
Druids will end up full on healers
Priests - well
Mages will be mages
Hunters wont change, RANGE RANGE RANGE (Forget the entire line dedicated to their pet - Your an archer deal with it)
Shamans - healers, plop some totems down buddy - your not going anywhere.
This game is in a PvP ditch and the developers are still nerfing classes because their OP'd in PvP. . . Not because its overpowered, but because gear makes it overpowered.
Just stick with what your good at
PVE - Thats your customers, thats your game. . . No casual can compete in PvP, not even someone whos soley dedicated to PvP on a daily basis can compete in PvP.
Please - Stop fooling yourselves.[ post edited by Bjorn ]

I'd love to provide much more information on this subject, but right now my hands are tied, I'm afraid. I can say that we're aware of many of the concerns expressed in this thread and that the expansion will specifically address a great deal of them. We've learned much over the last couple of years in regards to several aspects of what works well in an MMO, pertaining to both PvE and PvP.
My only suggestion right now is to wait patiently for a few exciting announcements.[ post edited by Eyonix ]

Another thing that I'd really like to emphasize here that I realize only partially addresses concerns of this nature involves itemization. It's important to note that we fully expect even more of our end game content in the expansion to be experienced by more players than the current end-game content is, which should inherently narrow the gap that currently exists now between raiders and non-raiders in regards to gear.
I know until we give you concrete information, those that are currently disappointed will remain skeptical of this type of vague messaging but please at least trust me when I say that collectively, the community team and designers have probably read over ten million characters of text worth of feedback on this subject, and are very excited about many features and improvements the expansion will bring about.[ post edited by Eyonix ]

Q u o t e: You're adding an extra 5 hours to each day??!!
Don't know how you think theres gonna be such a large increase in end-game players. I've done the "spend several hours a night learning a new encounter" routine all the way through Nef and then some. I, like many other players, have no intention on returning to this time-consuming model. I'd rather y'all just stop going nuts on item stats for a while.
Actually, we've found a way to add six hours to each day. We're in the final stages of testing, but unfortunately it's difficult for our Quality Assurance Department to test something so massive as how quickly the earth makes its rotation.
We're doing our best though, I assure you.
In all seriousness, I think most players will find expansion endgame significantly improved in all aspects. I realize I'm asking quite a bit here, but please just be patient and avoid speculation. We'll be making many announcements in the coming weeks/months.[ post edited by Eyonix ]

Oh, sure make fun of the cripple.
Hmm, Paladin -- I'll remember that... :P
