What stood out to me was the following:
"#5:With the upcoming addition of the Naxxramas raid instance, it will ultimately introduce a slew of new and powerful items for players to hunt for. How are you developers planning on relieving the disparity between non-raiders, whom can acquire tier 0.5 at best, and raiders, whom will soon have access to tier 3? - Robyn Parrell on the Burning Legion server.
A. Increasing the level cap to 70 inherently narrows the gap between raiders and non-raiders, as it gives non-raiders an opportunity to gain new items with higher levels through quests and instances. In addition, we expect that even more of our end game PvE content in the expansion will be experienced by more players than the current end-game content is."
Tigole came right out and said that gear from Naxx would be a huge leap forward, so there's obviously all the intent in the world to raise the disparity between raiders and non-raiders. In what possible way will increasing levels cause the gap to converge rather than diverge? Further, he assumes that more people will participate in level 70 endgame (could it be anything aside from raiding) than they do at level 60. Forgive me, but this sounds exactly like the democrats of 2004.
"Surely, the majority of the voters don't know how they feel or what they believe. If only they thought the way we do, it'd prove us right. Now how do we convinve them that they don't believe what they think they do?"
Blizzard is trying to change the playstyles of its customers rather than adapt its game to the playstyles of its playerbase. If I don't have 5-hour chunks of disposable time or the desire to be one more anonymous cog in a 40-man machine at 60, I won't magically have those things at level 70 or anywhere in between.
I don't expect it to change, mind you. I fully expect Tigole and his cronies to run WoW deep into the ground. Rather, I feel it important to give some valuable, logical feedback to any remaining employees of Blizzard that know how to work a business model.
36 days of sub time left on my cancelled account, Tigole, and I've been trying to find a reason to resubscribe. You seem to go out of your way to vindicate my decision to cancel.
You don't own space, so stop acting like you do.

Q u o t e: Tigole came right out and said that gear from Naxx would be a huge leap forward, so there's obviously all the intent in the world to raise the disparity between raiders and non-raiders.
And do you expect all of the people gearing up in Tier 3 armor now to be using that same armor when they reach 70? You are comparing a current push in gear to a future end-game state, which is inaccurate.
Q u o t e: In what possible way will increasing levels cause the gap to converge rather than diverge?
Because everyone is progressing through levels and gear. At the end-game of 70, there will be more small group dungeons (5,10 and 20) than there will be raid dungeons. As such, the gear obtainable only through 40-person raiding will be smaller, compared to gear accessible through small group dungeons.
Your logical fallacy lies here:
Q u o t e: In addition, we expect that even more of our end game PvE content in the expansion will be experienced by more players than the current end-game content is.
Notice how Tigole did not mention raids; You did. If there is end-game content accessible in the form of smaller group dungeons, more people will likely access said content. Yes?[ post edited by Tseric ]

add from post 227, cause most will probably never see it:
Q u o t e: What is "end-game" content? If you mean blues from the casual instances, then yes, you've said nothing and not improved the situation, but you're right. If you mean epics, does this mean everybody gets epics now?
Look. The old raider/non-raider debate boils down to two fields: Character progression and competition.
This could also be simplified in a PvE/PvP comparison.
Why does a gear gap matter in each?
PvE: Accessible content allows players to keep playing the game and advancing their character. New dungeons, new rewards. However, the actual gear disparity does not affect this at all. It makes no difference if a player has better gear than you when it comes to content available for you or quests you want to do or what have you. In short, the e-peen envy does not play a part here. New content in this area is really what will appease matters and, as I said, we are interested in having more small-group activity and the majority of dungeons slated are aimed toward this end.
PvP: Gear disparity comes in to play here. This is really what makes the whole issue hot and bothered. This can be dealt with in many ways. One of those ways is having a match-making system with BGs that takes more into account than simply level brackets. This is something we are working on. Will it solve all of our players worldly concerns? I don't know, seeing into the future is tricky business.
Is all gear disparity going to be wiped out? I would venture to say no, but that wasn't the question. The words of the OP were if it was going to be lessened or was it widening. With dungeon content at end-game, we are aiming to give players something to do, which sort of takes priority over making sure everybody feels good about the number of epics they have. These issues usually tend to come up when players have nothing to do.
So, to answer directly, "end-game content" means what players will be doing when the level cap has been reached. We expect to have more to do at endgame than previously/now for players who like smaller groups. Is some guy gonna be decked out in purples? expected. Is it going to matter as much to your average player? Not if they've got content enough to not care or if BGs are grouped differently.[ post edited by Tseric ]
