at blizzcon people were given the chance for a key to the beta test when are we going to get that key in our mail? I wanna try out the game soon...does anyone know?

The beta key is located on the back of the same card that included the key for your baby murloc. You need to keep that card in order to have a chance to get into the beta.

I don't remember anything about keeping the card.
If you already signed up then you're good to go.
Clarity:
The 'sign-up key' is located on the back of the card.
You use the 'sign-up key' to register for the beta following the instructions on the back of the card.
After registering I believe you can expect to receive an e-mail in the future with further instructions.

and how are people already signed up?
By either attending BlizzCon and obtaining a card with sign-up information, or by being recognized as exceptional testers in the original World of Warcraft beta and entered into the Blizzard Friends program.
I have no further information regarding when a beta test will begin, if additional spots will be opened, or how you will be able to apply if they do open. Sorry.

I don't get why you're assuming that it changed. We're talking about the BlizzCon cards, who said that the Blizzard Friends wouldn't be entered as well?
