I'd appreciate it if someone who knows the answer to this could respond, rather than speculation (which I can do on my own).
Given that there is a language filter in the game, why is cussing a reportable offense that might cause your account to have negative action taken against it? The filter gives you the option of taking the language you don't want to see out of your gaming experience, while allowing the people who choose to use this language the right to speak as they wish. What's the point of the filter if you're allowing this to be a reportable offense? And I'm not looking for a cookie-cutter answer, I really want to know the logic behind this.
Also, not that this is gonna be heard by anyone who can make a difference but just to vent a bit...if you're gonna have a reporting system in place to weed out the truly offensive people in the game from the people just messing around, don't honor inconsequential, cheap-shot reports submitted simply for payback of some sort. (i.e. if someone's name is "poopie" and another player reports this, do you actually think the person reporting the name was offended??? Come on.) Rules are rules, I get that, but a little common sense used by people receiving these reports would be nice. Otherwise you're allowing people to abuse the system that is put in place to actually help out when there is a true offense taking place. That is all.

The profanity filter is not a license to be profane, and I'm sure that your vocabulary extends beyond the need to use profanity.
