Ok, this is the only way I can communicate with Blizzard, so I am using it. Hopefully I will not be banned for spamming/trolling for this thread (as many of my servermates have been)
Mannoroth, since patch 1.10, has been horrid. The pattern is always the same:
(1) Things are ok during offpeak hours and right after a crash.
(2) Chat lag begins, usually about 2-3 seconds scaling up to about 5 seconds
(3) Casting lag begins, usually spiking between perfectly clear and 10 seconds of lag
(4) Chat lag escalates to over 2 minutes of chat lag. This is only chat which goes outside the normal area - /say and /yell are not affected
(5) The Instance and World servers crash
(6) Goto 1.
Last week the server was flawless. No crashes, no world lag, no chat lag, and that let us go through and defeat Nefarion for our first time. Tonight, however, something has reverted back to the way it was in the previous weeks.
Something changed during last week's maintenance which fixed Mannoroth, and that was somehow changed back into a problem during this week's maintenance.
This is a calm discussion of what problems we have seen as Mannorothians in the past few weeks.

Our programming team is running diagnostics on several realms to isolate recurring issues, such as the ones mentioned here. Hopefully, we will have more details on the exact nature of the anomaly in the near future. You are being watched ;)
Keep in mind, these diagnostics will be running over a period of days to get a view of performance trends. As much as I would like it to be, this is not a switch flipped that will 'fix' the realms. I am merely letting you know what was going in place to address this matter in the future.
