Subject: Is sniping items from neutral AH bannable?
Sometimes people will use the neutral AH (and two accounts) to transfer items cross-faction. Usually this leads to a blue or epic item being listed for like a minute at 1 silver or something.

Is purchasing one of these items off the AH before the intended recipient an offense someone can get in trouble for? Or just a jerk-ish thing to do?

The free market is a dangerous place. Buyer and seller alike should beware. As far as I know, the Steamwheedle Cartel has few policies barring the purchasing of an item in an Auction House. They recognize no claim to a pre-determined buyer or seller.
My vernacular is spectacular
