   There are a few tornado's touching ground over the Red, white ,n blue...Meh might have affected a blizz server generater deal thingy..

   I don't think such events are effecting the realms right now. I think it has to do with increased load on some realms causing failure to hardware that can't support it. Once the initial problem occurs, then players are kicked off the realm. Once they are kicked off, the natural response is to log immediately back in. This is the same effort everyone else that was dropped is attempting. This strains authentication and we begin to see bottle-necking and people getting dropped from the authentication process. Coupled with increasing population numbers on a weekend evening, we can see a pattern of "rush hour traffic" begin to emerge. This basically results in what could be a crash that results in 15 minutes downtime for the realm extend into more time for any given user due to the authentication process.

But, I'm not a technician, so that's just my 2cp.
