Who all is supporting this permanent death deal? Please, reply and suprise me if you are.
I don't disagree with much Blizzard does, if anything. I'm good at keeping my mouth shut and not whining on the forums about other classes owning me on a regular basis... because that's part of the game, like rock paper scissors.
This is by far the worst move I've ever seen an online game make. If this is a joke, please, speak now before thousands of gullible people like myself terminate their accounts. :(

We see this reaction to nearly every unique mechanic we implement, Haranaen. You don't have to choose the wisp if the idea of permanent death doesn't appeal to you. The expansion will introduce much more than just the wisp. This is in fact a feature which I believe many will enjoy.
It will be a testament to player skill when standing (floating?) in a major city at level cap as a wisp.
Internally, I've not been able to make it passed level 19 without dying, although the last death was due to lag.

Just doesn't make sense.
The idea behind the wisp is to introduce entirely new strategy. As a wisp, you won't necessarily be running instances, or doing PvP as such is very dangerous. I've pretty much just been questing with my wisp characters and grinding mobs so that I only do quests which con green to me.
