I was here during that time and a sticky post was made here, in the Realm Status forum, and information concerning the issue was presented in the Breaking News window. In cases of issues such as the authentication issues we will normally attempt to curb the influx of many duplicate posts. It's an attempt to encourage posting in a couple threads instead of hundreds of duplicate ones, or more appropriately, the sticky thread created for the issue.
It's a case of keeping the forums easy to read and easy to participate in, not silence the voices of concern.
On a side note related to Zulsoka's signature, if I had my way I would enact specific and precise judgment on any who would use the word 'toon' to refer to their character. This is of my own personal opinion and not that of Blizzard Entertainment, its subsidiaries or investors. This post is made possible by a grant from the W.M. Keck foundation and people like you.

As the thread was specifically questioning the reason for the deletion of a post, it was moderated within our guidelines midway into me writing my reply. You reposted (as I assumed you may) and was then able to post what I had originally intended to.
