Hi,
Last night I finally found someone willing to make me some stormshroud armor. I gave him the (expensive!) mats, he made the armor, then traded the armor back to me.
When we went to the trade window, though, I saw NOTHING in the trade column. He was like, "Click 'trade', isn't this what you wanted?" and I responded, "Sorry I don't actually see anything in the trade window."
Fortunately he seemed a trustworthy guy (after all, he could have just ran away with my mats :-b ), so I went ahead and hit trade and looked in my inventory to see if I got anything. Lo and behold, there's a big red question mark as one of my inventory items. I also noticed that suddenly I couldn't see my character at all (I could only se the shadow), and when I brought up his profile I saw a completely white outline of some random character (looked like a troll mage with spikey hair).
I of course wrote Blizzard because if I can't recover the armor then there goes 130g down the drain, and I'd really like to be able to see myself. Has this happened to anyone else? What is the recourse for fixing it? I know this has happened to me before, starting on some Tuesday after some patch, where I traded random armor to a friend and he got them as ?'s with the same repercussions (he showed up as naked to me and his profile was all screwed up, and he couldn't see himself).

It's not a bug. It has to do with how quickly data is loaded from your computer and then rendered. A good way to ease this issue is to upgrade RAM. More RAM helps everything load up faster. "?" items are similar in effect to players being "unknown entities".

Then perhaps there are realm latency issues or network issues contributing to the matter. However, it is not a bug in the strict sense of the word and I am not a Tech Support rep. ;)
