A common misconception is that all races in the horde are good except undead, this is wrong almost all the horde (excluding tauren) have evil parts to them. The trolls are almost pure evil, they sided with the horde when they were being controlled by the legion and helped them in an attempt to destory all human and elven existence.
Trolls in hinterlands are always saying how Zul'Jin is going to come and slay every last women and child of the opposing clans. Orcs still have alot of issues left to deal with, mainly warlocks. And the undead are pretty self explanetory why they are evil.

Tauren don't have a darker side? Tch, I think you need to look into the Grimtotem sometime...
The common misconception, actually, is that the Horde are evil. Your conception there is an uncommon one, but it isn't wholly true, either...
...it's all relative. ;)
