With the 1.10 patch two new craftable bag types will be available specifically for holding items related to either herbalism or enchanting. The keyrings are still being worked on. They haven't been forgotten; I hear them mentioned at every major design meeting. There are some technological hurdles to be overcome in order to make them, however.
Herb bags and enchanting bags, however, did come up around the time soul shard bags became a reality. These bags work off the same basic principles as soul shard bags and required no additional tech. Therefore, the answer to the question posed is yes.
