Subject: Past 1.10 Promises... 1.11 Nax
   http://forums-en.wow-europe.com/thread.aspx?FN=wow-general-en&T=834327&P=1

I read this once and this is how I feel. I wonder if anyone share my feelings.

1. Now that we've fixed *cough* the horrible PvP situation that exists between raiders and non-raiders by adding ((PHAT PURPZ LEWT)) we can move onto the real issues in the game.
2. We've tweaked the bosses and loot in BRS, Strat and scholo that should keep non-raiders busy with new things for months.
3. Now we can add a real dungeon for the real players WoW. I can't wait.
4. We'll keep promising more casual content and fulfill that promise in 1.12 by adding a new cooking ogre boss in DM North which nobody should kill actually.

This so cool!!! I can't wait.

Q u o t e:
I disagree. I think Blizz has gotten the message and is making some fundamental changes to how the game is developed. Given the long development cycle, it takes a long time to see these changes. But I'd bet you anything that adding new bosses to Strat, Scholo, etc.. along with the new Dungeon Set 2 was NOT part of their grand scheme. Blizz made these additions only after it became evident that a significant part of their player base was not progressing via raid content.

Do I wish they would have made the changes sooner or simply developed the game with a better balance from the start? You bet. But Blizz has broken new ground with this game. When the game you develop attracts a player base many times greater than the entire MMORPG market, I think it's understandable to make a couple wrong turns with development. As long as you listen to your player base and make the appropriate adjustment, I've got no problems with them. Patch 1.10 tells me that Blizz is listening.

I appreciate your perspective; this is largely true. Naxxramas has been in development long before the infamous "Casual vs. Hardcore" debate flared up on these forums. Our development cycle is longer than it may appear. When we first start talking about an upcoming feature, it means we're confident about it happening, but it's already been in development for some time.

I use this example a lot, so I apologize if you've heard it before, but it helps put the development cycle into perspective for some.

Back in Beta, around April '04, we added a dungeon into the game called the Scarlet Monastery. We received a lot of excellent feedback about the winged dungeon design, and the developers decided to implement a similar design into the next dungeon they were creating from the ground up at the time.

That dungeon was Dire Maul, added into the game in March of 2005.

I understand you're frustrated and seeking some content, but 1.10 is going to be providing some for the more casual or "non-raider" playstyle. No, it's not an instance, but as I've demonstrated above, instances aren't created on a whim. We didn't read the feedback you've been giving over the past few months and decide to design a new raid dungeon despite it all. Naxxramas has been in the works for a while, and the designers are not idle when it comes to other playstyles, either, but again, the development cycle comes into play.

Patience, folks. We're working on it. :)

Lennoxx, with all due respect, we're not going to put Naxxramas on hold longer than we did.

It was originally scheduled for 1.10.

While your perception of the raid dungeons as they stand is interesting, it isn't entirely true; we do keep tabs on what's going on on the realms internally. By the time Naxxramas is released, the raiders will, in fact, be ready for it.

We're not just working on Naxxramas -- far from it. But the way the raiding game operates is different from the non-raiding game. We're working on non-raider content as well, but again, Naxxramas has been in the works for months longer than this debate has been a hot topic.
