otherwise, devs are going to get linched.
my responce to blue responce on this thread;
GARBAGE.
I am familiar with the paladin, I have optimized his abilities to my playstyle. Bottom line its just plain not up to snuff. Your shrewd vagueness is wasted on me, I've already read cay's post about us not seeing and changes to the "design/developement/phylosophy (whatever that may mean has yet to be disclosed to THE ENTIRE PALADIN COMMUNITY", so your phrase about "that may not be realized in the immediate changes they see" is just a cop out meaning "you just dont understand yet" and the one about "the game requires paladins to hold a particular place in the broad spectrum of game balance" yet somehow we have no party role also illudes my understanding.
The part where you said you took consideration of the players was a chuckle, we had to fight with you just to change bok as our end tree retribution talent, and it didnt come with out killing the protection tree off entirely.
BS RESPONCE.
FYI i know i wont be paying the 100 dollars to #@%$!, i'll be paying the 100 dollars to throw things and stir up $!@%.[ post edited by Riobard ]

Q u o t e: Well....ummm....does anyone else know how to reply to this?
The paladin "reworking" was focused on by the devs because there were elements and aspects that they wished to see in game, for the class. The confusion comes in that some paladins may expect a "reworking" to suit a particular play style which they are striving for, that may not be realized in the immediate changes they see. While we are not trying to tell players how they should play a certain class, or the game for that matter, the game requires paladins to hold a particular place in the broad spectrum of game balance. This is what the devs are striving for, based on considerations from the players and designers in a synthesis.
Uncertainty always arises at times of change. Play styles can be disrupted through change, but settling into these changes will see players finding their own nuance in a play style through practice and familiarity.
The here and now encompasses more than here and now.

Q u o t e: Paladin need to fit the bill of support correct? Filling in for w/e is needed much like shamans. But we don't, we heal and buff.
I'm confused with statements like this. If you are suggesting you fill a support role, Im not sure I see how you don't. If you want to reduce support to simple aspects of healing and buffing, so be it; your perspective. You can stack your buffs individually, shaman don't have the same distinction. Are you seriously trying to discredit your versatility in a group/raid?
I'm not saying I know exactly what your gripes are, but please tell me it's more than DPS. 'cause if you are asking for that on top of everything else, you have me at a loss. I've grouped with a great number of pallys who provide great support and tanking potential when a warrior isn't available. Is that tanking going to work in a high-end dungeon as well as a warrior? Likely not.
Does that sell you short as a class? No.
I mean, you really want serious killing power coupled with plate armor and healing and group buffs? You seem to be looking for melee (or perhaps direct) damage as opposed to mana-based damage as shamans have. Yet, shamans run out of mana faster than you do.
I'm not sure what intention I had coming to this thread, but the results are certainly outside anything I desired and I only seem to be making people madder by paying attention.
I guess all I can say to the OP is, if we have BlizzCon next year, I'll be there. You can voice your discontent to me. I would hope you wouldn't hang on to your anger that long.[ post edited by Tseric ]

Q u o t e: To put it bluntly Tseric, Paladins want trade-offs like every other class.
Great. Mages are complaining about Eye for an Eye on their forums as we speak. A totally unacceptable imbalance to the game, as they call it. Should be removed immediately.
Would you like to head over there and tell them otherwise?
