Hello, this is a question for CM's. What is your role at blizzard? I see "Blizzard Poster" by your names at times, but I'm not entirely clear what all you do. Are some of you developers? Public relation reps? Do you act as a link between devs & players? I'm just curious about what all you do.

The Community Team is primarily here to read your feedback, compile it, and give it to the development team. We also communicate information about the current state of the game and anything upcoming when we have it available. We do also take steps to build the community from time to time (hence the "silly" posts). While we do sometimes moderate the forum, that is the primary goal of the Forum Moderators.
Good daycycle, Citizen!

Our focus is in communication (internal and external), and design philosophy. We're basically a source of information for several departments, which includes the World of Warcraft development team, Public Relations and our support departments. We're also responsible for many of the items you see posted on the main page of our website. While each day births a variety of new tasks, we spend a great deal of time reading through the information presented on the forums, discussed in-game, and often times gathered from the random avenues we've chosen to direct our attention in an attempt to gather feedback.
This is the short version, I could discuss the projects and tasks we've contributed to since the launch of the game for hours, but most of which is behind the scenes for very specific reasons.

Q u o t e: Well let's see... in general they help the community, listen to our gripes and help out. Except in the case of Cay. I swear, her whole job here, is to spread misinformation and vauge rumors, then when you take it seriously she blames you for it.
I canceled my account about 6 months ago, and came back at the request of some friends. Pretty much my sole reason for canceling was Cay. Her seeming unending plethera of barbs, distractionary techniques and the bedside mannor of a rock make her the reason people should NOT use these forums.
Actually, Caydiem is no longer in charge of vague rumors, only misinformation spreading and blame. Tseric took over the vague rumor task when he joined our team recently. With some of her time free, she has been able to focus on changing her signature much more frequently, however.
In any case, welcome back!

Q u o t e: CM shouldn't even exist. If the devs actually took 10 minutes off doing whatever they are doing and read/answer some of the stuff here it would make people a lot happier.
If they only took ten minutes to read the boards, then they wouldn't have a good grasp of your feedback.
If they took enough time to get a good grasp of your feedback, they wouldn't have enough time to develop anything. ;)

Q u o t e: Remember, they don't have to answer any questions, just take feedback.
So it does not matter what you ask, it is their ability to refrain from answering any question which in all likelyhood should be answered.
This is completely obvious by the lack of feedback or constructive posts by any CM in the paladin forum concerning the paladin changes in 1.9.
Moreover, CMs don't need to take "our" views as a community to the Development Team, they take what they want from a minority of players on the boards that make the least sense and take it. Once again obvious from the 1.9 paladin changes.
Lastly, they take things that may make classes viable or at least the same as previous patches out and rethink the idea behind them. Like how paladins require mana to tank, and then stealth nerf the multi-proc ability of Judgement of Wisdom so they can maintain the massive mana output they need to tank.
So yes, I doubt I will see a response by Caydiem or any CM to my post, and I highly doubt any paladin concerns/nerfs/bugs will be directly addressed by a CM before 1.9 goes live.
