They all seem cool to me.
Or is this just a reflection of the WoW community in general? - as a spoiled bunch of brats who can't stand it when someone else has an insignificant cosmetic difference to everyone else?
Honestly people - of all the GAME issues there are to discuss and cry about, why waste forum space bashing MVPs?

The MVP program has had its intended effect, actually, on the whole. I expected detractors, but I will remind those individuals that trolling and harassment are both still against policy no matter the crusade you happen to be on.
This isn't the only thing we're doing with the forums, mind you. Our moderation team has definitely stepped it up a notch and you'll now see much faster reaction time from clicking the biohazard symbol. In addition, our web team has been working on a forum overhaul that will probably include features such as a time requirement between posts that should help eliminate a lot of the unnecessary posts that fly around here these days. Posts have more thought in them when you won't be able to say anything else for a bit.
If you have concerns about a particular post from the MVPs, I urge you to eMail wowreportedpost@blizzard.com or just click the biohazard symbol. If you wish to give feedback on the MVP Program in general, please, eMail wowcmfeedback@blizzard.com. I will state, however, that I am not removing the program based on the few people who are currently decrying its existence. The effect, as I've said, has been solidly realized.

Okay, I should have qualified that, admittedly. How about: "Posts can have more thought in them when you won't be able to say anything else for a bit."

Q u o t e: You should have let them continue to post on how to do the browser ignore as it effectively puts the proverbial sock in their mouths.
I can't condone mucking around with browsers the same way I can't condone mucking around with one's registry. Yes, the results are less dire, but there's still the chance of breaking something.
There are plenty of other forums out there related to World of Warcraft where you don't have to deal with MVPs. These are our forums, however, and we cannot condone such posts. Simple as that.

Kwesten, I think what you're seeking, to better put it in terms everyone can understand, is an elevated representative from the playerbase that could be used as a "focal point" for people to be the voice of the players and give constructive criticism in a way that would get noticed.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.
We've discussed volunteer player representatives (not just class, but player in general) internally until our faces became as blue as our text, but in the end decided against it. MVPs are one thing -- player representatives are entirely another, and that sort of program could well put the forums in an even worse state. We have no plans to implement such a thing.

Maybe I was a little too subtle in my last statement, Kwesten, but I'll say it again -- the matter of player representatives in any capacity is pretty much closed. We have no plans to implement such a program in the slightest. I appreciate your polite and constructive advocacy of such a goal, but there are no plans to put such a program in place with our current system.

Q u o t e: Full featured search capabilities that work can cut down on a lot of redundant posts as well.
Another idea is the ability to "follow" a thread and be alerted when a response is made via email.
I think these two would go a lot further then putting a time restriction on posting.
I didn't say that was the only feature planned. :)
