I was thinking bout it a bit, and the prospect of Flying Mounts with the new expansion coming out brings forth visions of mounting a flying beast and soaring over rooftops, mountains, basicly a controllable version of the bats/manticores/etc we have now. Prolly a little slower than the purchased from windriders tho...
Then it hit me; I do not think Blizzard will do that at all. THink for a moment about current pets and things, the models are still ground based. Remember when you got turned into a bat last month? YOu were still ground based even tho you could "fly".
What I will say is this: If you are thinking of giving us pseudo-flying mounts that are ground based and not actual flying mounts, then do not bother in the first place. I have no desire to mount a winged creature to be limited to hovering a few feet from the ground. If I am going to mortgage my house to buy a flying mount, I want to truly have Z-Axis control.
Better yet, air-air combat, possibly even engineering providing support for that.....
The ideas are exciting the more I think about it, but I will NOT buy the expansion just because you stick wings on a kodo, remove its legs so it hovers and call it a flying mount.

Mounts will be true flying mounts to my knowledge; however, there may be restrictions on where they're able to be used for obvious exploitable reasons.
It's dark.
You are likely to be eaten by a Grue.
