I was very disappointed to see that blizzard "honored" certain posters when the posters in question did not even "honor" us with their true character/level. I found it very disrespectful to the rest of us posters.
Blizzard should of known by now that the community gives zero respect to person that do not post under their true identity/lvl.
To me, it goes to show just how little they know about their community. I mean, I thought this was obvious as hell. Your NAME and LEVEL give you credit....hands down.....

Knowing about it and agreeing with the mentality are two different things.
It's a nod to the fact that you do not have to post under a level 60 character to contribute to the community in a positive and constructive way. That is the reality of the matter. Players' perceptions that only level 60s have anything of value to add to any conversation is misguided and false.
These people are posting under their "true" identity -- their forum identity. How is that a false identity, precisely? It's an identity they've granted themselves; they consistently use these particular characters to post. People know them and respect their views despite the fact that their given choices are not necessarily level 60.
Do you see us only responding to posts made by level 60s? Hardly. To maintain that blatantly false and alienating mentality is to further pollute these forums. A level 1 poster can have an excellent point. The level of a character on these forums does not necessarily reflect the intelligence or knowledge of the player behind the name.
So no, Samjon, I understand that factor perfectly. However, I am not going to perpetuate the "disrespect" of perfectly valid opinions that happen to be posted by those sub-60.
I do hope we're clear.[ post edited by Caydiem ]

Q u o t e: Don't make me laugh caydiem....they are not posting under their true identity...you and I know this...Its completely dishonorable...I'm sorry you think different but this is the difference between YOU and ME.
Honor is everything in the gaming world....you can't uphold that I'm sorry your a loser.....
You're not posting under your true identity, either.
I know your true identity, however. Your real name, all the information upon your account is at my fingertips. That, my friend, is your true identity. "Samjon" is a false one, an anonymous name from a game you play on the internet. You're not a Tauren in real life. I'm fairly certain you're not a level 60 in real life, either. Unless you've studied a great deal... I doubt your Druidic standings, as well.
Why is this "Samjon" identity any more credible than any of our MVPs? A number? One number from a game. So.. surely they can't tell you anything you missed on the forums when you didn't visit for a while. They can't give you a tidbit you didn't see on one of the other forums. They can't answer a question about beta. And why is this? Because they're not posting on their level 60. Right. That is completely and utterly nonsensical. That one little number does not stop them from having comprehensive knowledge of the game and the communication that takes place on the forums. They were personally chosen for that. They were observed by several Blizzard employees as giving helpful and accurate answers to common questions. That is why they were picked. I do believe Blizzard representatives would in fact know whether these people were right or wrong.
You can have your own personal standards, Samjon; that's fine, and no one's faulting you for that. If you, personally, wish to utterly ignore everything these individuals say, that's your right. But kindly do not proclaim those personal views of yours as "the way the community works" -- at the end of the day, this is my community, Samjon, and I am the one that makes the decisions on how things are run; not you. That is the difference between "YOU" and "ME".

(I would like to preface this by stating that, until this was brought up, I barely noticed that they posted on alts at all -- because I value what they have to say rather than a number by their avatar. Keep in mind that they were not chosen specifically because they post as alts when you read below.)
Think of the flip side, too, Malcolm.
Say there are some people on the boards that take issue with their rise to MVP-hood. Say you yourself were chosen. Would you enjoy people logging in and harassing you for your work on the boards? That ignore list fills up quickly.
I don't post on my "main" either, if you'll note. It's certainly possible for me to do, but instead I post as a fairly anonymous person, at least where it pertains to the game. Now, I have two level 60s and another nearly there. I don't post on them. People tend to listen to what I have to say, however. Why is it so different for these individuals, precisely?
