Subject: Hows about that language system
I would LOVE to talk/taunt with my fellow players instead of just half of them.

I would suggest, in the future, believing the articulate, constructive posters who reply to you, citing examples from the past that explain why this will not come to pass quite eloquently.

Hopefully the MVP program will clear some of that up. (And thank you for what you've been doing so far, almost-MVPs.)

So I will simply reiterate what others have said -- there was some limited functionality for this in Beta with the Undead, but it was removed due to the sheer amount of vitriol and bile that was spewed both ways. It caused a large number of harassment complaints. There are no plans at this time to add this functionality, to my knowledge.

You could have saved yourself quite a bit of time if you'd simply took the players at the word, as well as saving yourself one less warning for spamming. :P

No offense, Caydiem, but with all the things other players say on these forums it's VERY difficult to trust ANYTHING that isn't blue, even if it makes a lot of sense. I hope you know what I mean.

Not that I'm defending anything going on here, but it's not really easy to accept the "word" from other posters. I hope you understand...

I do, actually. We're working on setting up an "MVP Program" (MVP standing for Most Valuable Poster) that will grant some of the posters who are articulate, mature, constructive, and helpful a bit of legitimacy when they answer posts. If someone is flagged as an MVP here, they have been selected not only because of their posting qualities, but because they're practically always right when they answer someone's question, as in this case.

The funny part is the posters who are actually useful with not be MVPs because they are not blizz fanboys.

Not that they flame needlessly, but somehow I doubt you will MVP those who bring up VALID problems about the game, certainly including your customer service problems.

I see MVP posters getting flamed more than anything else really, but who knows it might work out.

Those termed "fanbois" -- those who viciously and ruthlessly defend every aspect of the game, no matter what it is or how they personally feel about it -- are not what we're after for the MVP program. It's only natural that these folks have some concerns, and certain people we've been watching for this program have voiced them on numerous occasions. That's not wrong in the slightest. That behavior should be encouraged, not discouraged.

At the same time, the program will be a way to supplement our presence, so being supportive of the game in general is a good thing. Having concerns, also a good thing. Being bitter and angry to the point of gleaning no enjoyment from the game, probably not a good thing. :P

Q u o t e:
What Blizzard says and what Blizzard does are two different things. Sometimes three. Caydiem might believe what she says is true but that rarely matters. They won't be MVPing people that are accurately critical of their product/service unless it's pointing out of obvious bugs.

Palehoof is likeable because he qualifies statements/situations. Ultimately it's just a funnelling process towards the intellectual version of "its fine learn 2 play" (ie, it's blizzard's game, you don't have to play it), but at least things are explored a bit more interestingly at first.

Oh, I'm quite certain the most critical of our game and service won't be happy with our choices, but I want to clear something up. These folks aren't meant to be "community representatives" in the vein of being champion of the critics -- they won't be class reps or anything of the kind. They're not going to be there to gather feedback or get the players' voices heard.

MVPs will be chosen based on the criteria I gave -- being mature, intelligent, constructive, and helpful to those with questions that honestly don't need someone like me to respond. And yes, that does, on the whole, require that the chosen individuals be generally supportive of the game. Being a "fan" is not a bad thing in and of itself... being a "fanboi" to the exclusion of all logic, on the other hand, is.
