As it stands, there is little reason to be on the same shard as the opposing faction. Instanced pvp content, and possibly cross shard instanced pvp content, makes me wonder why I am sharing server load with a bunch of folks I don't even get to group with.
It is bound to happen, the question is simply...when? When will I be able to play with the opposing faction on my server? I have family, friends, and I'm sure future friends as well. Is Blizzard saving this change for a future world-altering event? Will a new enemy emerge on the horizon that we can fight together? I'm sure existing content can remain the same, but at least allow us to work together in new dungeons!

The last time they worked together, it was to face the Burning Legion. Ever since then, all treaties between the two factions have gone down hill.
As far as the game goes, I do not believe we will ever allow official cross-faction grouping.
