Subject: New idea for meeting stones....
Does anyone ever use the meeting stones?

I think they need a re-work. Groups are still best formed by going to IF or Org and sitting there spamming LFG or LFM.

I suggest Blizz comes up with something like:

1) Have one place in the two maor cities for each faction that has all the endgame instances available for signing up (much like battlegrounds is now). That way, people can easily go and put their name in for instances without having to go halfway across the world in the hopes someone else used the meeting stone.

2) Have a set of stones for each class in the the two major cities. That way you can go and sign up for your class and people can pull from those queues. Say I am looking for a priest for my group: I go to the priest queue, view the various levels and contact one to see if they want to go to my instance. Maybe add a variable to each name which lists preferred instances when u sign up.

I really like the idea that I can sign up for AB then go about my business until a game starts. Something like this for high level instances would also be great, if convenient.

Discuss.

We are looking to adjust the functionality of meeting stones to ease the process of finding a group and make them more appealing. We are also looking into the "Looking for Group" concept as a whole and how it may facilitate meeting stones. I realize that a lot of groups/raids tend to form in capital cities, so this is obviously an element that shouldn't be ignored.

Let me ask around again about some of the ideas and upcoming changes and I can see what sort of feedback I can provide you.

Q u o t e:
How many people want to bet he won't get back to us at all?

=\

Ye of little faith...

It is known that, basically, the functionality for meeting stones depends on how many people are actually using them. Another issue is the inability to see players already queued up, so you have no sense of how long you may be waiting. After a half-hour of no success in the queue, most players seem to dump Meeting Stones completely and never come back.

The unfortunate thing is, improvements have been made to the stones to make them more functional, but the common player perception seems to be that there is no point. If no one uses the meeting stones, then no one can use the meeting stones...

I talked to our designers and there are plans in the mix to deal with the overall issue. What they are working on diverges from meeting stones and may or may not incorporate them into the future design.

To sum up, we hear ya and we're working to give you something you will use and enjoy.

A lot of people have said, in response to this thread, that we should just use "Call to Arms" or take the EQ model. We would like to develop something that is unique to our game. Granted, the opinion of Meeting Stones is very clear and being taken into account.

I don't have any real specifics right now, but rest assured it is a large priority for us to implement a functional and, almost more importantly, popular method by which to find groups. Hopefully, I will be able to make more specific comments in the near future.

In the meantime, I think I will start a thread for purposes of getting specific ideas regarding the LFG issue. Stay tuned.
Do you see the forest or the trees?

UPDATE- I've made a sticky to collect feedback on LFG systems. Post your ideas here:
