I'm going to get some crap for this one way or another, but... I used a demonic rune the other day while my brother (a warrior) and I were playing. I checked my hit points and mana... I had high enough hit points that even if the rune did max damage I could survive. I had low enough mana that I figured it was worth it.
I clicked it.
Demonic Rune crits you for 1900.
You die.
To add insult to injury, it didn't even double the amount of mana I should have gotten back. Not that it matters, because I lost it all on death anyways. By the way, 1900 hit points is more than my maxed buffed total.
[EDIT: Okay, error on my part. I have 2900 unbuffed. I don't know why I had the notion that I had such a small amount of hit points. I swear I checked at the time though, and that the damage it did was greater than my HP.]
[EDIT TWO: I figured out what it was! My brother and I, we really like priest and warrior. I have a horde priest and an alliance priest. My 56 alliance priest was the one with only 1900 HP unbuffed. Problem solved!]
I'm not mad or upset or whining. I blinked at the screen a couple times and immediately started laughing. And I figured I wasn't the only one who would think it's funny, so I posted this for fun and as a warning to others.

Demonic Runes are a lot of fun to use, except for when something like that happens. I always fear having to use one.
I like how they have a chance to crit, it adds excitement!
