Subject: :) Eyonix: To the Developers: Warlocks
   In summary:

Q u o t e:
- Confirmed Change: Death Coil - Cooldown 2 minutes. Added 3 second fear effect.
- Confirmed Change: Pyroclasm -- Effect now added to Soul Fire.
- Confirmed Change: Intensity - Effect now added to Soul Fire.
- Confirmed Change: Bane - Effect now added to Soul Fire.
- Confirmed Change: DoT duration decreased, amount of damage kept the same, yields more dps.
- Confirmed Change: Decreased critical damage bonus for Ruin talent.
- Future Change: 1.9 - Looking into buffing the pets. No plans to change how they work.
- Future Change: Provide the Warlock with a replacement shard upon accidental loss of demon.
- Future Change: Soul shard bag. No details given.

Above is a summary of our changes. This thread is not a whine. This is feedback to the developer from posts I have searched through over the past 2 days. Overall I personally, love the changes. I do not however believe that we are finished. I hope people can really understand that. I believe that warlocks get a lot of attention because they need it. It's a class unlike all the others currently in the game. We have a lot of strange quirks that no other classes have.

Anyway. Here are some others that also appreciate the patch changes. However their feedback is in the same line as my own. The changes are great, and on the right track, but they don't solve the problems we've outlined, time and time again.

Q u o t e:
End game pets are terrible in design. The risk vs. reward does not exist. example:

Q u o t e:
Kaboomzz is right, you just dont realize it. There were alot of maybes and buffs to dots/deathcoil. This doesnt help us nearly as much as you think. Its a start but again we have no defense ability. Farming shards will still be an issue. Those are the two biggest problems with warlocks, and they arent being addressed.

Q u o t e:
Thank you for taking the easy way out. Instead of actually making pet pathing work you are going to make it so the pet is refunded when it can't keep up with us. On a plus side I guess it is nice that we will get the shard when we take the wyrven somewhere. Bravo... Gaining the shard back is of little concern to us when we get attacked while mounted without a pet given poor pathing.

Q u o t e:
Overall I'd rather have all the changes then none of them, but you guys still haven't addressed the primary problem which we've brought to your attention since release and that is defense.

Q u o t e:
I'll warn you in advance, I'm not happy. You guys have consistently dodged the whole defense issue for months now and it is nice to know we can expect nothing to be done for our defense for the next 2 patches (which is likely 6 months given your past patch performance).

Q u o t e:
End-game pets will not be fixed; all Eyonix mentioned was that their power would be increased. Big friggin' deal. Unless control of these pets is changed also, they are still 100% useless.

Q u o t e:
Shard bag? Yeah, when are we getting that? It sounds to me as though they're still trying to figure out what to do with it.

Q u o t e:
Facts:

1 - Death Coil + Fear is NOT a viable defense.
2 - End-game pet control was NOT mentioned.
3 - Shard Bag is STILL 'in development'
4 - Blizz will likely not remove shard requirements for ANY spells, save the utterly useless ones (firestone, spellstone, etc.)

The upcoming patches are nothing but fluff changes ... in other words, more of the usual tripe ... along with nerfs.

I just wanted to say most of us are happy for the changes. Please don't dodge the design issues of the class though, as they are truely what needs to be addressed / looked at.

Thanks for both the feedback, and the smiley in the subject line, Kaboomzz. I'd really like to take this opportunity to emphasis that no class will ever be finished. This is a term players have used when they became frustrated that issues affecting their class weren't on the immediate horizon. We're excited to see how the upcoming changes mentioned in my recent Warlock post will affect the class, and will continue to make improvements in areas that are in need.

Wonder where folks got that idea? ;)

Out of context, words and statements can be twisted to indicate something far from what was stated. You've just pulled a sentence from the latest Battle Plan where Shane was discussing the comprehensive talent reviews we've been doing.
