Subject: Stopping /afk in losing BGs
Scenario: You're waiting for Arathi Basin, the newest and most played BG now, for 1 hour. The other side has only a few teams competing and your side has too many. After a lengthy period of time, you finally get that "Do you want to enter" window and you quickly answer "yes" only to find you entered a game in progress with the score 800 (you)/1700 (them). You've been screwed out of your queue and will have to wait another hour just to get into ONE game.

The above is something that happens all to often in WSG, AB and even AV. We have the horde specifically queue up 40 players one at a time, and then when it goes up, they CANCEL and requeue forcing a second AV to go up and screwing the 5 or so horde in the first as well as the all the Alliance side queue who waited nigh on 5 or 6 hours just to get IN.

If you are entering a BG in PROGRESS, SAY SO. When the window pops up, it should say "Do you wish to join Arathi Basin 3 (56m) (A:900/H:1350)?". If you choose NOT to enter it, then you are put back into the queue for other games, just not this one. And PUT THE SCORES IN THE QUEUE WINDOW (the window that shows how many BGs are open). Not hard. Just put in there so we can SEE the progress of the games instead of bothering the people inside. Also, make an option to join only NEW BGs.

Likewise, if you forcifully afk (by typing /afk) out when an outcome is near completion (2 flags captured on the enemy side, 1500 or more points in AB for the enemy, 8 or more graveyards captured by the enemy) the person will be marked as "Coward" or something like "BG Fatigue" and be unable to queue ANY bg for 1 hour. You had a good reason to leave that BG then why are you queueing up for another?

As for /afk because you see an enemy who is "unbeatable" and leave in the first 2 minutes, you are also given mark of "BG Fatigue" which stops you from queueing for 10 minutes (not as brutal as leaving a losing game but still hurting other players because YOU don't want to play that team).

Please, it's highly abusive for the majority of a team afk out when the game is about to end only to screw those who patiently waited in the queue for hours on end JUST to get into ONE game.

/edit for more details, thanks Karebear

Our development team is looking into methods to prevent this kind of behavior and entice players to participate in full matches. Expect some changes down the road regarding this.
