I'm not ruling out possible future locations for BlizzCon. The reason why it's in Southern California is naturally that our offices are also located here. Because it's local, more of us can attend; as a result, you get more of the "top-level" Blizzard folks you'd probably want to see at this sort of shindig.

I do understand your desire to see one on the east coast, and you never know what the future holds. This is our first event, however, and we want to make sure everything runs smoothly. That's more easily done if you're close to home. ;)

Q u o t e:
bwaahahaha all the money Blizzard is making and they can't even spring for airfaire and hotel accomodations for their "top level" people to go to a show. Amazed they flew you all to E3.. must have blown the budget for T&E expenses for the year

Next thing the CMs will tell us they're earning minimum wage!

Flew?

We drove.

Look, having knowledgeable staff on hand and the folks you want to meet is simply easier if it's local. I've run the con circuit this year, and very few people get to attend such events. That's simply having a booth. Staffing an entire con is a whole other ball of wax, and requires far more than attending a show being put on by someone else. :P
