Subject: Restoration
Blizzard, I took about 30min writing a letter to get an automated message about my character restoration. Can I take this to a higher offical so he can really READ my letter? or perhaps call someone?

Q u o t e:
Thanks for writing back cay, you seem to be the nice one. It said we are unable to restore your character. But, I wrote a letter saying why I need this character restored badly and wrote a very long letter, to get a bot not even answering my question.

Well, in all honesty, after checking your account, I can see why.

From our Restoration policy, located here: http://www.blizzard.com/support/wowgm/?id=agm01724p

Q u o t e:
Keep in mind that a player and the account registered to him/her will be permitted a limited number of instances in which the GM staff will assist with property recovery. We do not wish to encourage career victims, nor will we penalize players who legitimately make the occasional slip-up. Reimbursement of any kind is NOT guaranteed. While we will make every effort to verify and restore your loss, the decision to reimburse your loss is entirely at Blizzard's discretion. If a player is repeatedly making poor decisions that result in lost property, we reserve the right to refuse further reimbursements.

Each account does have a limit on reimbursements, I'm afraid.

They dont promise restoring characters but when I asked them two days ago to restore it, they said ok... but they couldnt restore it because I haven't been on it in so long. NOW, they say ok where not gonna restore you anymore... WTF??

CAY what about that? Cay please, I have been working so hard on my account and I cannot loose it I did not do this purposley, is there anything I could do?

I'm afraid not, in this case. The restoration policy is fairly firm on this particular ruling.

ok fine I know, but the thing is, I still have one more left actually Cay, because they said they can restore my 20 Hunter on Alliance but they couldnt because it was deleted off the server for inactivity. They must have counted it as a restoration, shouldn't i get one more chance?

Honestly, it could well have been that they didn't check your history before telling you a restoration was possible. I cannot overrule a GM's decision, and I do know that it appears your limit was reached. I apologize and wish there was more we could do, but this limit is in place for a reason.

Cay, did you read this?

They said they could restore my character 2 days ago, but due to inactivity they couldn't restore it.
In thinking it would be restored, I deleted my character. I should actually be able to get my account restored because they did say I could get it restore but it failed because it was no longer on the server.

Yes, I did, and my response is above.

I do not have the power to overrule something the GMs told you.

The breakdown is this:

There is a limit on how many restorations an account can receive.

You have apparently reached that limit -- and no, that one you keep bringing up didn't count against you.

I have quoted the policy directly where it states that such a limit is the case, policies to which you agreed upon creating your account.

If you have feedback you'd like to give regarding your GM service, you can eMail wowgmfeedback-us@blizzard.com. As it stands, however, recompense should not be sought through the forums.

Q u o t e:
This is really a shame.

The person obviously had a maturity issue but did you really have to suspend the poor guy? That's pretty lame in my book - a questionable way in which to invoke the rules and shut him up when simply refusing to respond to the thread now that the decision was clear would have been sufficient.

It's funny because I thought the issue was being handled admirably, and not merely well, up to that point. It was nice that you were looking into the guys problem and trying to explain why the ruling went against him. But now the thread just appears to be another show of power. Too bad.

There are rules on this forum, and everyone who posts here happens to be governed by them. He broke the rules; appropriate action was taken. I do not need to further defend what was an appropriate application of the Code of Conduct.
