Look at the effing home page.

" FAN ART CONTEST
SCREEN SHOT CONTEST
MOVIE CONTEST
COSTUME CONTEST!!!"

Hows about letting us know where 1.7 and the RP/PvP servers stand... oh wait, I forgot, $15 a month isn't enough for decent customer service in Blizzard's book.

Those who defend Blizzard and sympathize with their excuses really need their heads examined. This lack of productivity is inexcusable. Think of the millions of dollars they rake in every month; and yet, productivity has stayed at the same snail's pace.

Heres a thought: Hire more people.

We've stated that the RP/PvP realms are going to be released along with patch version 1.7 on probably more than a dozen occassions, so I'm not sure how we're failing to let you know where such stands.

Concerning patch version 1.7, as with every patch we've ever released, it will be ready for download when we're satisfied with the testing it has received. We don't provide dates for our patches as we never know what could occur during the QA process. I'm not sure what's different in your mind concerning this patch than any other.

As far as hiring more people, please visit www.blizzard.com/jobopp and you'll see that we're looking to fill several positions. It takes time. If you feel qualified, please, I encourage you to send us your resume and cover letter.

Q u o t e:

As I've said, letting the player base know just how satisfied with the progress would help a great deal. Telling us the likely-hood (odds in the form of a percentile) of the patch being released the following Tuesday would be a plus, and is by no means unreasonable if you ask me.

We've tried doing as you just suggested, and players were disapointed when we missed the date. Much more than they were in not knowing an exact date at all. You must understand when we provide a patch date, no matter what careful messaging we choose to indicate that it's not a guarenteed date, players still plan around what we say, and are upset when we fail to meet their expectations.

We'll release the patch when it's ready. I'm sorry that I don't have an ETA to provide you. Your patience is appreciated, however.

Q u o t e:
yeah, all these lame contest suck, i want the new patch too, but u must remember Blizz is here to make a popular game and money, by pushing the patch or anything else for that matter faster than it should is not whats gonna happend. as long as Blizz keeps getting money the game will slowly improve, and with them all busy i dont expect any responce, and if so im honored cuz i know bliz is busting there butts to provide a fun stable game for us to all enjoy.

Guys, please understand that our game designers aren't putting together contests. It's an entirely different department and doing so has about as much affect on our design and patching process as our cleaning crew might when they decide that it's time to clean an office.

Each deparment has a focus - the contests are great way to get people involved with the community.

Q u o t e:
hmmm maybe these job applications would be better if you didn't have to live close to the blizzard headquarters and work in an office rather then your home.

Yes, but working in the office is important for project management; trust me, try to develop a game over the Intarweb. I've done it, but.. oog. :P

Woah.. even Caydiem responds. Its official then, the RP/PvP servers are going to be released "with" the patch, rather than "after" or "around" the release of the patch. (Considering the fact that the Thursday/Fri after the release is still considered "with.")

I said nothing of the kind. I apologize for the wording of Eyonix's post, but it is still around, not necessarily with. He's posting from home today. ;)

Q u o t e:
I dunno verant/sony seemed to do it with ease. Not trying to be rude just saying they made it seem like it was no big trouble to have GM's from around the world.

But apparently I'm incorrect so thanks for the reply Cay.

You're referring to volunteers, not paid employees, and I assure you, there's a world of difference. :P

EDIT: And there is a UNIVERSE of difference between volunteer customer service and remote, paid developers.
