Blizzard has launched many new servers without a new patch. The ONLY difference between a pvp-rp server and a pvp server is :
1. 2 letters and a hyphen on the server discription name.
2. More GM's warning people for speaking OOC. Also stricer rules that follow the RP rules on the user agreement form thing.
The only excuses for this is that you either need a whole new patch to add ALL 2 letters and a hyphen to the server decription, or you are waiting to hire more GM's to mind the new servers.
This is a joke, so many people have been waiting for this server and i was SO excited this morning when i woke up to roll my new character on the pvp-rp server and see the new patch... if you cant release the new i patch i TOTALLY understand guys, i would rather you wait until it is all ready and stuff. But you could atleast make many people happy by releasing this new server, you would see way less accounts being cancelled (mine is currently cancelled and ill renew it as soon as the new servers come out) and way less complaints about waiting for 1.7 if you could just release the new servers we all have been waiting for.[ post edited by Paladinlol ]

Regardless of whether or not it's two letters and a hyphen (and it is, in fact, a bit more than that), it still requires a patch to the client in order for your game to recognize that there is a new realm ruleset in place. Your client can't recognize a realm ruleset that isn't in its current list.
I can attempt to will the option into place, but I don't think that's going to happen.
Therefore, it needs to be patched in. Smaller patches are only composed for emergency, game-breaking situations, and though I understand many of you have been waiting anxiously for such a realm to exist, their lack is not game-breaking as we define it. Game-breaking is a constant client crash or an exploitable spell/ability. Because it is a feature and not a horrendous bug, it will not get its own offshoot patch.
They will come around the time that 1.7 is live.

It'll be out when it's ready to be out; I have no more information to give than that. I'm waiting to create a character on that realm ruleset as well, and I understand the anticipation, but it will come in time. :)

The fact that all they would have to do is put up a tiny little patch and a new server to make us all happy these past few months yet WON'T is really, really frustratingly dumb.
"Tiny little patches" still require:
1) building the patch and the version number so the servers can correspond
2) extensive testing to make sure nothing's wrong
3) patch notes detailing what was changed
4) localization of the changes for all global regions
5) preparation in all global regions for an impending patch
...before it's released.
While I understand that it's simple to think a patch can be shot out the door without much effort, that's not true. ;)

Like the rest of you I've been waiting..and waiting to play again.
Tying this server to the longest patch is totally ridiculous.
Blizzard easily could have implemented this a long time ago. I don't buy the crap of training time (lol) or the complexity of a mini patch to update the server list.
The bottom line is if Blizzard knew it was gonna take 3 months they shouldnt have told us about it so soon.
Say what you want Caydiem..if you werent a CM you'd be O.o right now..
If I weren't a CM, I'd still have my five years experience in the game industry, know that things happen, and wait. Would I be frustrated? Sure, but I know that things happen that set such features back. I've waited in the past for other games that have had similar issues (and ones on which I haven't worked), and I'd do the same here.

No information leads to frustration. I don't believe you would be waiting patiently if you were in our position.
I've been in worse situations, and I've waited patiently. Believe what you like, but I do understand that there are more important things and, while such a feature as an RP-PvP realm is a lovely thing and something I'd eagerly anticipate as a player, it's not the end of the world if it doesn't come out tomorrow.
I've managed these boards for well over a year and you think I can't be patient? :P

I do not believe transfers will be available, and I have no further information -- no matter how many times you ask -- regarding when precisely the realms will be released. ;)
