Subject: Raid Instance Lockout Issues
We're aware that there have been some outstanding issues with Raid IDs being shared amongst a large number of people through certain actions, and our team is actively working to resolve the issue. In the meantime, there is a workaround that has alleviated the problem for a majority of players. If your raid is in a shared Raid ID instance despite having nothing in /raidinfo, follow these steps: Make certain your raid is zoned into the shared instance. The raid leader should then zone out and zone back in. There is a high probability the raid leader will be in a new instance. The rest of the raid can then zone out and back in to join the leader in this new instance.

Again, we know this isn't a foolproof workaround and that this problem still needs to be addressed; we are working on a more permanent solution to the dilemma. Thank you for your patience with us in the meantime.

Here's a more detailed explanation of the workaround and my best theory about why this actually works:

The workaround has absolutely nothing to do with instance cascading and neither facilitates nor hinders it. The two issues are entirely separate.

It was your post that helped me write this up -- thanks. :)
