I have a story to tell, and I hope you find it interesting. I think the ticket I submitted will tell the story just fine so here it is. (The one actually submitted was truncated, but this is the whole one.)
I just got paged by <GM><NameRemoved> and he said (exactaly) "Hi, I am <NameRemoved> from blizzard..and we came to hear that you have been hacking to get money and i am just tell you now that your account will be canceled"
The grammar is poor so i'm not sure if it was really a GM... I dont know what to say. I have never hacked or anything. maybe there was a mistake somewhere.
EDIT: I want to also point out that when I tried to reply I couldn't I pressed 'r' and nothing came up and when I tried to just /w <NameRemoved> it said there was nobody by that name. I see one of 2 possibilities. 1 sombody figured out a way to spoof the system and wanted to give me a hard time and 2 somebody hacked my client and sent the message that way.
I will be at work all day tomorrow so please reply via E-Mail to my e-mail address on file which should be <removed>@<removed>.com.
If the message was legit please allow some time for discussion before canceling my account for there must be some mistale. I only have ~300 Gold to my name and don't even have an epic mount. and I have never given away any quantities of gold to speak of. It just doesn't make sense. If you need it, I have a screenshot of the tell.
Thanks again,
<RL Name>
So, there is is, spelling errors and all. I just got a canned response from Blizz, but I will take that to mean that it WASN'T a real GM becuase they said that they would "take the appropriate actions".
I guess just take this as a warning if you get any such tells from supposed GMs.[ post edited by Geon ]
