Can a blue please confirm that the Darkmoon Faire turning in of green fireworks was changed? Can we have an answer as to what it was changed TO?
Regardless of the reasoning, engineers who prepared for DMF are getting a shaft that Blacksmiths and Leatherworkers aren't.
Since we still have a day or two before the faire opens, can you please give us a hint what to prepare for this quest?

After Tyren posted that, he and I researched it a bit, and it appears that the amount needed for turnin was increased quite a bit. I'm not positive, but I believe that was the resolution.

Actually, people who do not have the particular professions singled out in the quest can still participate by gathering the monster bits. No one is excluded.

Most of the people who stockpiled knew precisely how many to buy in that iteration to get the faction reward they were after, and bought no more than that. They'll find now that their stores are not adequate for the task. :P

A lot of those who stockpiled were gnomes -- not necessarily Engineers. They'll be unable to turn in more unless they either get the profession up to that level or buy them... and Engineers should know by now not to sell Green Fireworks for a small amount. ;)
What would you rather we do? Kill the work of everyone who has been making them legitimately by switching the item? We can't delete those particular fireworks off people -- they're not flagged any differently than normal fireworks, because they're the same item. This solution is the one most fair in our opinion.
EDIT: Also, the evil bat eyes are going to be a touch easier to come across... if new raid instances are your thing. ;)[ post edited by Caydiem ]

Blue Fireworks are Alliance-only. While it is technically possible to get the schematic through Gadgetzan, we prefer to make it something equally accessible to both sides.

I brought Gnomes into this because the quest requires Engineering. The only race that can turn them in without being an Engineer, therefore, is the Gnome. ;)
