I was just curious of why you're doing the seemingly deplorable job of babysitting a bunch of unappreciative, rambunctious and hostile forum-goers, when you clearly have other skills prudent of an MMO? For example, you've stated that you have worked on 2 (If I recall correctly) other MMOs where you worked on one of the most complicated characteristics of an ORPG--dynamic world events. You've also shown you have extroardinary talents drawing and as an author.
So, why o' why are you here, watching over thousands of whiners while you clearly have other talents? Is CM just one of the aspects of your job at Blizzard?
I was just curious.

Hmm.. this is difficult to answer at the best of times. What I can say is that achieving a career in art or writing is a lofty goal. I enjoy greatly what creative endeavors I am permitted to pursue here for Blizzard; if anything, it's certainly good practice for me personally. (I don't consider myself the best artist or writer, and there's always room to improve.)

I know you wanted a more explicit response, but I'm limited in what I can say on a professional level.
I can assert, however, that I have been a forum-goer in my free time for years; I enjoy communicating through this medium, and bandying words is something in which I take great joy. The art of wordsmithing is one thing when you're attempting to appease the muse in your head; it's another when you're responding to other thinking, caring human beings and a great deal hinges on not only what you say but the way in which you phrase it.

Hm. It's not really a simple yes or no, though.
My title is Assistant Community Manager, and projects that involve managing the community make up the bulk of my day.
On occasion, however, I'm asked to "pinch-hit" -- whether it be in art or writing -- and I do so when I can.
