It is a little-known fact that the entity known as Caydiem is, in fact, a truthful embodiment of the old brain-in-a-vat theory. (Instead of complex chemicals, however, they have substituted Mountain Dew. This probably explains quite a few things.) In my cozy little vat nestled in the basement of Blizzard Irvine, I float here contentedly, hooked up to my computer through a complex system of transmitters. I am told that my "cubicle" set up makes me look like an Elder Brain of Illithid society. (If ever you wondered where your monthly fee goes, now you know.)

I suppose the closest thing equating to a shower would be the replacement of fresh Dew in my vat, which happens every Thursday at around 8PM.

Someone that shouldn't exactly have a free time at this moment appears to have quite a bit of free time.

Ah, unfortunately Blizzard's attempt to emulate the fabulous Knowledge Upload BrainDrive effect seen in the Matrix was a disastrous failure. I was out of commission for a week, and my area was said to smell faintly of almonds. You see, as this merry brain-in-a-vat does not have the wherewithal or knowhow to work upon the realms, and the attempt to upload that information directly into my cerebral cortex resulted in tragedy, I am not directly involved in the process in which the server technicians are vigorously engaged at this time.

Our latest messaging states that we are currently looking at the full 24-hour maintenance window needing to be used, thus aiming for the 5AM target time for all realms to be up and operational. That has not changed. I fail to see precisely what you're claiming this jovial buoyant-organ-in-carbonated-beverage should do.

Ever had yer vat spiked?

Well, there was that one time when I insulted Fangtooth's parentage and I awoke from my restcycle convinced that Shaman were the weakest class in the game and Bloodlust had to be implemented IMMEDIATELY.

Fortunately, my rambling to the development staff was so incoherent that I think they ordered a ping-pong table instead.

How the hell does a vat play ping pong?

I'm sure the employees here were as confused as you are.
