Do the Tauren females bother anyone else here? They really annoy me cuz of the whole fact that they are cows, but they dont have utters. I, for one, would think it would be awesome if Tauren females had utters, because it would:
A: Be much funnier to play with one
and B: They would be less ugly.
Now flame me, tell me its a good idea, whatever. Just dont say tauren females are sexey.

Consider that, while Tauren are based on cows, they are also anthropomorphic, meaning that they hold several characteristics of humans. Now, clearly Tauren have evolved as bipeds, and function as bipeds do. Udders are not practical for feeding young if you are not quadra-pedal; as the baby is held in the arms, rather than supported by the ground, it is only natural that the Tauren have mammaries which support this manner of feeding young. Q u o t e: ...No offense Caydiem, but I think you have put WAY too much thought into this.
What?! It's simple logic!

Q u o t e: But it makes them SO UGLY!
plus, not all races "Evolve" into bipeds. Having two legs is somewhat inefficient, seeing as how we "Evolved ones" can be outrun by small dogs. And sqirrels. We humans are the epitamy of screwups in evolution. The only reson we are still around is because we can think, not because we have two legs instead of four.
Plus, it would be funny. 'Nuff said.
Your logic is rather flawed, since you seem to base evolution on how fast one can run. The fact remains that the Tauren race is bipedal, and udders on such a creature would be unnatural, ungainly, and against most simple evolutionary principles.
In short, it makes no sense, and we're not adding udders anytime soon. :P

Q u o t e: One would think that if Tauren evolved from cows, though, they'd have some evidence of udders as vestigial organs.
Not necessarily, considering that udders are mammaries just as breasts are and serve the same function. It could well be that the udders of old shifted into the mammaries they have now.
Alternatively, the Earth Mother made 'em and didn't want a silly udder flapping around. :P

Q u o t e: Until we can see how many nipples a tauren has without causing trouble for the company Rockstar style, you have a point, however, there would still be *some* anitomical evidence to show past udders. The only races that have evidence showing a past other than evolution are the undead and dwarves. There isn't even evidence the earthmother exists.
Technically, Cenarius and his brothers could be considered evidence. ;) It all depends on how far you want to go into the lore, though, heh.

Indeed. I'm not certain we should continue down this path of discussion, however, since real-world parallels are also being drawn and I'd rather stop that before it starts. :P

Q u o t e: Why do Dragonkin female have breasts then? Reptiles lay eggs and do not feed milk to their children, so shouldn't have any.
Um... they're not breasts, but rather air sacs that help power any breath weapon they might eventually have... and they're just coincidentally located? :P

Q u o t e: At least Tauren have females. Where are the ogre females? Trogg women? Gnoll women? I was pretty amazed when they added goblin women back in beta, I didn't think they would.
Regarding gnolls, are you familiar with the hyena and the difficulty many have in telling the difference between genders? ;)
