The following was tagged onto another thread, I hope by starting a new one I can get an answer, hopefully I will. Thanks in advance.
Q u o t e:
Understandable, Hadiar, and I hope it will please you (at least slightly) to know that, along with everything else, we are working on incentives to play a particular Battleground at certain times. This should increase the number of players active in said Battlegrounds and thus bring the entertainment you prefer. :)
As for the PvP-RP realm, we're looking to release it around the next content patch; precisely when that will be, I cannot say, but we're on schedule.
Caydiem, are there going to be changes to the BG itself in addition to "incentives"? The reason I ask is that in present form on Silver Hand it seems AV just goes on for hours until we the Horde cannot sustain a viable defending party and the inevitable happens, the Alliance push thru and win. So other than incentives to play, are there other things that will/can limit the length of the fight to something less than infinity minus two hours? I say that joking, but really the fights just seem to go on and on and on and on and on and... until we cant field a force and we leave. There are even rampant accusations of a boycott by the Horde on our server against AV, and I have seen absolutely no evidence of this in game or out. But the situation speaks for itself, AV pretty much remains closed... Personally, I am not going to sit at the keyboard for 4+ hours hoping that we will eventually win before our side looses interest and we start leaving. That is, plain and simple, stupid. Therefore I pretty much just stay away. I'm not boycotting, I'm just not interested.
You wanna give me an incentive? Give me some way to finish a match in under 4 hours and you will see me in there regularly. You wanna just add more "uber lewtz" to the long list? Not intersted, not going to waste my time, wont be able to get it anyway. If I'm going to go that route I'll go to Onyxia, MC, or the new BWL instead. Heck at least there I have a viable shot at items as they drop, instead of hoping to make it to the end of the fight and see if we have a chance to win.
Does this make sense and is this concern being addressed? Because if this particular angle isnt really addressed I really dont think anything will change on Silver Hand anyway. Thanks in advance.
Another perspective. Blizzard has always contested that casual gamers are the majority of the population. AV, quite simply, is not a casual gamer instance. It requires a MAJOR chunk of time in one sitting (4+ hours I believe as I posted above...) to complete. I play WoW at least 5 days a week. Many days are 3+ hours. I still wont sit down for an AV run because I wont commit to that length of time. And I think I play this game quite a bit more than I'll bet your casual gamer model does. Just another thought.[ post edited by Yjlothar ]
