As it stands, when you shift the weapon from one form to the other, it essentially destroys itself and creates a new weapon, which is why you cannot enchant it. There is no graceful way to make it enchantable with our current setup, but we do realize that you folks would like to enchant these weapons and the developers are investigating potential solutions. I have no ETA for you, however.
