New craftable weapon in 1.6 with Thorium Brotherhood faction:
Black Amnesty
BINDS WHEN PICKED UP
One-Hand Dagger
52-100 Damage
1.60 Speed
(47.8 DPS)
Requires Level 60
Chance on hit: Reduce your threat to the current target making them less likely to attack you.
Requires Lava Core (6), Fiery Core (12), Arcanite Bar (12), Blood of the Mountain, Dark Iron Bar (4)
Need I point out the rarety of Mining/blacksmith/weaponsmith rogues with exalted faction with the Thorium Brotherhood? Bind on Pickup for a subpar weapon? What on earth are you thinking? And THIS is a purple weapon?
Blizz, do you REALLY hate blacksmiths that much?
Take note of the recipes for the enchanters for a bit of contrast. Nice to see that they can enchant a slew of new and USEFUL enchants on pretty much everything, but we weaponsmiths are stuck with a Heartseeker as our top-end BoE craftable, which is worse than a farmable dropped dagger. Well done. Well hey, at least we can beg the enchanters to toss a +15 AGI on it.
Look, as a weaponsmith, I would like some VARIETY and VIABLE endgame craftables. I am not as concerned about pure damage output. Give some viable interesting procs or something.
Are endgame smiths really that threatening to the economy?[ post edited by Fell ]

First of all, like most any other weapon in the game, this dagger isn't going to appeal to everyone or meet everyone's needs, however, it will be desirable to a number of players, meaning it should turn a profit. Keeping in mind that a major purpose behind the functionality of professions is in making money, and the fact that a number of players would love to possess this weapon, I'd have to disagree with you in stating that this isn't a viable end-game craftable.
With that being said, we realize that many of the materials needed to craft high-end blacksmithing items are pretty rough to keep the world from being flooded with items that are bind on equip. I can however assure you that our professions designer still has his eye on blacksmithing, and is aware that it's the trade skill that needs the most tweaking. Please be patient.

I will speak with the designers later today and inquire if it's intended that this weapon should be bind-on-pick-up rather than bind-on-equip. I will provide whatever feedback I receive on this subject by replying in this thread.

Guys, I just confirmed that this is a bug and that it isn't intended for the Black Amnesty dagger to be bind-on-pickup. This has in-fact been fixed internally, however players will not see the change until version 1.6 or 1.7. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you, and also apologize for missing the point of the thread originally.
