While I do know that we'd very much like release an expansion for World of Warcraft at some point in the future, as of right now there hasn't been any announcements of such. News this big would surely be posted on the front page of our website the moment it became available.

You had misunderstood us, or read something that wasn't posted by a Blizzard official. Never have we announced an expansion. Please keep in mind that if we do, it's not going to be done in an individual post but rather on the front page of our website.
