Subject: Caydiem /Eyonix Workplace inquiry
Well, I read your thread about the Whelping, and how Eyonix was in the room at the time. But like, what do you guys do at work? Just play WOW and post on the forums? I heard you guys mention that you did Customer Service at one point? Are you guys the kind of guys we get when we call the tech support number? And, are you guys also GM's?

I have two computers at my desk. My main one is always on the forums and is my "project" computer. eMail, documents, and the ever-present forum-watching goes on there. My side computer is normally running the game, whether it's running one of my many (legitimate, mind you) characters on live realms, testing something specific on the Test Realm, or looking into what's in progress on one of our internal realms, it tends to be showing World of Warcraft.

I do quite a bit more at work than just post on the forums. In addition to developer communications and meetings, the Community Team works on a variety of community-related projects. The articles on upcoming content are often written by our hand, and we do a variety of other content for the website. We work on patch notes. We keep the international teams informed and up to date about what's going on here in Blizzard HQ. There's always something to do. :)

We do not work in either technical or in-game support. Those folks are in the Customer Service department, and they work very hard. :) I do have a customer service background, but it is not from this company. Tech Support and GM are completely separate positions from those on the Community Team.

Tyren, Ordinn, Eyonix, Fangtooth and I. And while we don't play on the same realms (some play PvP and others PvE, for example), we have been known to jump on each other's realms and give one another a hard time. ;)

Q u o t e:
Caydiem! I want to ask you a question, I have always wondered this.

Can you tell me how much you get paid?

Call me a fanboi or whatnot, but a few years later in life, I wish to work for a PC game company such as Blizzard. I wonder how much you guys get paid a lot, and I'm never answered.

Sorry, but that's EXTREMELY confidential information that I cannot share.

I've long graduated from college, but i'd kinda like to know too.

Come, come Cay what did you major in, in college. If you say liberal arts im gonna give you a cyber smack.

Fine Art, with a Digital Art focus.

EDIT: I'm somewhat of an odd case, I suppose. :P It wasn't so much what I majored in that landed me this job (obviously) than my past experience doing similar things of this nature and working in the industry.
