the E3 Trailer is here: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/downloads/movies.html
clearly states "epic world events'
even the back of the box. "An ever expanding live team" which nobody has seen, which is supposed to introduce "new live content"
If the elemental invasion is it thats just sad.
cay then posted this Q u o t e: This has been explained, and is not as simple as you believe.
It's a business consideration. Will the expense incurred from hiring and training an "event team" be worth it? At this time, we have no desire to intentionally cause realm problems (as huge crowds would cause) and it's a matter of how much it would cost vs. how much of our playerbase it would positively impact.
Huge sweeping changes to the world probably aren't coming. As I've said, there might be a team of sorts eventually, but it would be focused on more "scripted" world events like the elemental invasions.
well sorry, if you say your going to have a live game with events you better have a live game with events.
Or am i to get excited of next cristmass when i can make snowballs again?
Honestly add some events. Stiches in duskwood is a great example.
Have the Scourge attack some place..maybe the come to terran mill and south shore.
maybe some elementals mass in the badlands and march on loch modan.
maybe the orcs rise up and attack lake shire.
there are so many options. just make a trigger so that after a quest is done 26 times the event happens. it's not hard, so don't give me that BS.
this should be done until your increasing live staff can actually do the events you promised.
right now the world is stagnant. i don't have to log in to know exactly what is happening.
there is no...ooo i wounder.
at most i wounder if my AH item sold.
the fact that they are not even planning to do this is a real kick in the pants.[ post edited by Dracna ]

The world events referred to in the trailer are the scripted events that take place, such as the elemental invasions and others that take place at a certain time during the year. It was no lie, and there are more such events planned for implementation. [ post edited by Caydiem ]

When it comes to events live and scripted, I ask that you read through this thread:
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?ForumName=wow-general&ThreadID=3368890
It's a long read, but I'm active throughout. It should help you understand the inherent difficulties in running live events, the reason why many more scripted events are not yet in the game (more are on their way), and many more points on the discussion of a dynamic world and its feasibility in World of Warcraft.
This is one subject on which I am personally very knowledgeable, as I have been behind the live events (both acted by real people and scripted) in other MMOGs myself and know first-hand the trials that come with the territory. I am, personally, a passionate supporter of such events, but at the same time I understand where the development team here comes from with their stance on the subject and it is that stance I explain in the above thread.
Give it a read if you're curious. It may take a while, but there are compelling arguments on both sides. :)

Kujako, we have not promised live events acted by live people on the realms. I suggest you read that thread if you want the reasons as to why we do not do them.
I did already answer your druid query, but again:
I never once claimed that I was filling the role of a DPS class in that I was as good as they are. If that's what you took away from my post, you misunderstood. Druids can do DPS or tank "in a pinch", which is what I've done. I've been DPS in caster/cat form on a UBRS run when we simply didn't have enough oomph in our group makeup. Was I the equivalent of a rogue? Of course not, but Druids are not meant to be.
Now I suggest you cease bringing this subject into completely unrelated threads, as that is trolling and we will take action.
